GENDER PAY GAP REPORTING

GENDER PAY GAP REPORTING

The gender pay gap is the difference between the average hourly wage of men and women within an organisation.

For 2024 businesses with a headcount of 150+ employees in any one employing entity are required by law to report on their gender pay gap.

The threshold for reporting will reduce to 50 employees in 2025.
However, with the EU introducing pay transparency as a legal requirement across Europe, we have seen an increase in the number of employers under the current threshold voluntarily completing their gender pay gap report as a way to strengthen their employer value proposition and position themselves as an employer of choice.

Reporting Requirements

Employers within scope for reporting must report the following information:

  • The difference between the mean and median hourly remuneration of male and female employees.
  • The difference between the mean and median bonus remuneration of male and female employees.
  • The difference between the mean and median hourly remuneration of part-time and temporary male and female employees.
  • The percentage of male and female employees who received bonuses and benefits-in-kind.
  • The percentage of male and female employees in each of four quartile pay bands.
The employer is required to choose a “snapshot” reference date in June 2024 for reporting the relevant payroll data.  The deadline for publication of the employer’s gender pay gap information is 6 months after their chosen snapshot date.

Support

Our Employer Services team can support clients that are required by law to report their gender pay data, or those who would like to voluntarily undertake a gender pay gap analysis.

We will undertake the gender pay gap analysis and provide the client with a report and the narrative in readiness to publish.  In addition, where a gap is identified we can work with the client on building a gender pay gap action plan.
